Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Effacio ("we", "us") helps you remove harmful content about you from the internet. Protecting your privacy is the core of what we do, so we hold ourselves to a high standard with your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have.

1. What we collect

2. How your documents are protected

Identity documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, held in access-controlled storage with unguessable keys, and are readable only by you and the assigned members of our team. Every access is logged. We never make them public and never sell your data.

3. Why we use your data

Solely to deliver the service: to find content that targets you, file removal reports through legal and platform channels, keep you updated, and, if you have enabled it, email you when a link is removed. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR)

We process your data to perform our contract with you and on the basis of your consent. You have the right to access, correct, export and erase your data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact privacy@effacio.com.

5. Retention

We keep case data for as long as your case is active and for a limited period afterwards to honour the lifetime re-removal guarantee. You can ask us to delete your identity documents once verification is complete.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies for security (sessions) and to remember your language and theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Sharing

We share only what is necessary to remove content: with the platforms hosting it and, where a platform resists, with partner lawyers acting on your behalf. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
